Hi Becka, I'm dying to start these! But I have two questions first.
I want to use some gorgeous Tofutsies yarn that I've got, but I've only 100g. That's usually enough for a pair of socks, but you say 150g. Is this pattern specially heavy on yarn? I won't be able to get another skien of the same dye lot, so if 100g is not enough, I'll have to compromise somehow. Maybe I could adjust and do them toe-up?

Secondly, the pattern says I need two sizes of needles - I presume the smaller ones for the rib, then change to the large size?
Thanks!
Ellen Rose

Oh my, forgive me for not stating the needle change in the pattern, I will make that change today! Yes, the smaller needles are for the ribbing and the larger for the rest of the sock.
Yes, Rose, this is a long leg pattern and since it's knit for a man and it's a larger circumference it does require 150 grams of yarn. You can certainly change to toe up, you will have a better guide about running out of yarn and with this st. pattern it won't change that much. Thank you very much to bringing the needles to my attention, I will fix that now!

I made these for my son with gray yarn and the targets in red. He loves these and I really enjoyed working with your pattern. When I look for sock patterns for the men in my life you are the first place I look.

Thank you for sharing with us - who can't write patterns;-)

Cotton socks for men are considered more suitable for day to day use. In comparison to the ones made from wool, they are cooler. So, they have a better capacity to insulate heat.
