Well... Where's the actual PATTERN, then?? What use is this to us, just pictures & comments from people saying how brilliant they are??
What an annoying waste of time - I want a KNITTING PATTERN for SOCKS!!!

Anonymous, sorry you had a problem. The pattern is in pdf form & will POP UP (of course, you must have adobe reader installed on your computer & it is free on the adobe site) when you click on the "here" in the sentence that states, "The pattern can be found in here in pdf form." Or something to that effect in the blog post. I'm very sorry that you were inconvenienced. Please feel free to email me if you have any other problems.
Happy Knitting and God Bless

What a wonderful pattern! My husband is in the military, and I wanted to knit him a nice pair of socks to wear with his uniform, but I didn't want to do just a "basic" stockinette pattern. Yours is a beautiful yet still conservative pattern that will knit up beautifully in black! Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you ALL for such kind words & for honoring me by choosing to knit my designs, I'm truly humbled!!

Mrs. Reynolds, I am so honored
that you have chosen one of my patterns to knit for your dear husband who has chosen to live his life in the protection of our country!
Hey Sandie!
OH, socks are fun! There are many, many socknitting turorials online that will walk you through knitting socks! You can "google" sock knitting tutorials, or look @ youtube.com and then there's the www.knittinghelp.com site that has marvelous videos that will show you everything!!
Sock needles are double pointed needles and/or circular needles - both can be used for knitting in the round (you can see videos on using both @ KnittingHelp.com, too!).
Please feel free to email me if I can help! My email is on the sidebar!

Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out what "skp" means in the shape heel part of the pattern. Any help appreciated! Other wise, what a beautiful pattern.
Thanks,

Becka said...

Hi Joann!
skp: slip 1 stitch knitwise, slip the next stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the knit stitch. There is a good video here: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/decreases
This is another left slanting decrease like ssk, I like to use both, you can easily use the one that you are most comfortable with, the result will be the same!
Thanks for your kind words :0)

Becka,
Thank you so much for this gorgeous pattern. I am a beginning knitter and have started on this pattern for my husband. I had a couple of questions regarding the directions in the heel flap and have sent an email to the comcast account listed in the side bar. I look forward to hearing from you hopefully. Thanks so much for sharing and for your wonderful spirit, as is evidenced by this board!
Sincerely,
Erika

I am just finishing up the first sock. This is my first "more than basic stockinette" sock and I love it. The pattern is very well written, easy to follow. I shortened the leg a bit, only did the pattern repeat six times, as my hubby hates tall socks and also used a heavier weight yarn to keep his toesies warm during our long cold Alaska winter. Very nice job. Can't wait to try some of your other patterns.

Does anyone have a pattern for socks knitted with 2 straight needles that has the seam on the top of the instep instead of under the foot?

Hello,

I'm from Holland and I was gladly surprised to read your Bibletext Ps 139. He knit me...What a beautifull way of desrcibing Gods creation of men. I'm also christian and this psalm is a comfort to me and my mother in several parts of our lifes. And I also love knitting, so I'm gonna knit your husband socks for my husband. God bless you all,
Greetings from a sister in the Lord ,
Mieke van Herwijnen

Anonymous, you can knit short row toes that will have a seam on the top of the toes, as found in commercial socks. I know that Priscilla Gibson Roberts has a book "Simple Socks" that describes how this is done, if you google about or look on Ravelry and/or Knitting Pattern Central you will find a pattern, I'm sure!

Mieke, PRAISE GOD, I'm so very, very happy to know that His Word is spreading across the world via my blog! Thank you so very much for your post! God bless

I'm having troubles finding the exact yarn you have used in the pattern (schachenmayr regia cotton sock yarn) -could you provide website or store where I may purchase it ?

Becka said...

I'm not sure that it's made anymore....any fingering wt sock yarn will work, though!

People love the appeal of custom made products. OEM sock designs are excellent options for people, but the problem is that sometimes designs get messed up in translation when the manufacturers get the designs. This is because designs by clients are not always the easiest to understand. Fortunately there are solutions to help you create designs that manufacturers can read, so you get the socks that you want. sock(s) template

I was looking for some good quality socks. My husband ordered a few online, seeing a good review. Though at first, I didn't pay that much attention, cause I thought it will be low quality, as the price was very less. But after trying this out, I was really amazed by the quality and I felt they are best yoga socks for me. It is so good and really comfortable to use and wash. They are providing the premium quality one, within a very reasonable price. They have many designs and pattern socks, from half-toe to separated toe.
